It seems like Barcelona are steaming ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window at full speed as they look to leave no stone unturned in equipping Xavi Hernandez with the best possible squad to take the team back to the top.

While the transfer window itself may still be a few months away, the Blaugrana are already making rapid strides in their pursuit of a few players and are in a good position to close out a couple of deals well before the window officially kicks in.

Talks of Cesar Azpilicueta having agreed a deal to join Barça have been doing the rounds for a while already. Now, the Catalan heavyweights are closing in on two more Bosman deals according to a fresh report from Mundo Deportivo.

The report states that the La Liga giants are right on track in their negotiations for the signings of Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen and AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie. The club are hoping to close the deals in the coming days and if possible make an official announcement to confirm them as well.

Christensen, much like Azpilicueta, will see his contract run out at the end of the season. Barcelona have been working on signing him for a while now, but things have really picked up speed over the past couple of weeks.

The report claims that Barça director Mateu Alemany was in London on Monday in order to further negotiations and the club are confident that the deal will be closed, despite there being interest from Bayern Munich. The player is believed to be eager to join the Catalans.

As for Kessie, he has turned down a fresh contract proposal from AC Milan and seems on his way out. Like Christensen, there has been no shortage in interest for the Ivorian, particularly from clubs in the Premier League.

But, Barça have been in talks with the midfielder’s camp for months and are already believed to have reached an agreement.

And the club are now contemplating ironing out the final details of the deal and making an official announcement so that the 25-year-old can put all the speculations to bed and focus on finishing the season strongly with AC Milan.

Christensen is a highly talented defender who has the required abilities to fit in well with Xavi’s philosophy at Barcelona. Kessie, meanwhile, would add a different flavour to the current Barça midfield unit, along with leadership and goalscoring prowess.

If the club are able to get the two deals over the line, it will be nothing short of a huge coup.
