Olympique de Marseille’s Boubacar Kamara is slowly but surely getting the attention of various European giants. The 20-year-old centre-back has been on an upward spiral and seems to be growing into a respectable and highly coveted defender.
With Barcelona struggling in their defensive line, it doesn’t come as a surprise to hear that they are indeed interested in the youngster. According to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalans would love to incorporate Kamara if possible but know it would require either a hefty sum of money or a player exchange.
The same source states he is currently valued at around 32 million euros but since there is a lot of interest from the likes of Bayern Munich, Milan and Barcelona at the same time, it is estimated some would be willing to splash as much as 60 million euros for the kid.
Needless to say, this is a fee the Catalans cannot pay. We also shouldn’t forget that the deal to bring Eric García back to the Camp Nou is still on but Kamara would also be considered nonetheless.
Barcelona have apparently been scouting him since he was 16 years old and now, as a growing centre-back and a U21 France international, his report is extremely positive.
However, as ever, money could be a problem since we’re talking about a very important player for Marseille’s present and the future.
