After the much scrutinized home kit reveal, FootyHeadlines have released the allegedly leaked images for Barcelona’s Champions League kit for the 2021-22 season, revealing a very bold and unique pattern that has never been seen before.
There are two prominent red stripes and three prominent blue stripes on the kit, while the logos are a bright yellow with a black outline. It is a different approach to the classic Claret and Blue colour scheme but with darker hues of blue as accents on the sleeves and collar.
The kit is supposedly a tribute to the 30th anniversary of the 1992 Olympic Games held in Barcelona. All the unique designs inside the stripes are supposed to signify various historic landmarks from the city of Barcelona from different neighbourhoods.
This is actually the second time Barça will use a different kit for a European Competition. Barça used a modified version of the blaugrana kit in the 1993/1994 edition of the European Cup.— Barça Universal (@BarcaUniversal) June 18, 2021

These landmarks include the original La Masia site, located next to the Camp Nou, as well as the three chimneys of Poble Sec, among others. Four quarters of the city are represented within the patterns, namely; Les Corts, Sant Antoni, Sants, El Raval, Poble Sec and Gràcia
According to reports, Nike asked residents from these localities to draw up the patterns that they thought best represented their areas, to use as inspiration for this kit.
