Pep Guardiola holds golf game with Ronald Koeman

The members of the Vallromanes Golf Club, who paid a visit to the club yesterday, had a pleasant surprise ahead of them. According to Mundo Deportivo, the club witnessed a match between two Barça legends, Pep Guardiola and Ronald Koeman.
Pep formed a pair with his son, Marius, whereas Koeman teamed up with his youngest son, Ronald Jr, who also participated in a promotional event by Cupra at Camp Nou, which occurred the day before yesterday.
Pep and Koeman shared the same dressing room in the Dream Team of the ’90s assembled by the legendary Johan Cryuff. The history book has it that Koeman used to teach Pep free-kicks after training during those days. Both of them have also shared a passion for Golf since then.
There are not too many details about what happened at the golf course. However, it’s reported that Koeman lost the match. The match was set up as a result of a WhatsApp text the Dutch manager had sent to Pep wishing him luck before the Champions League Final in Porto.
The former Barça player and manager is on his vacation after a successful season in England which ended in a disappointing result in Portugal in the UCL Final. Some journalists in Barcelona reported that Laporta was in talks with Pep to replace the Dutchman. However, Pep denied all the rumors.
Koeman has had a very troublesome few weeks lately. Firstly, his health deteriorated due to the immense stress that comes along with the job at the touchline for Barcelona. Then, he faced a difficult week that involved a lot of speculation around his future. However, things have settled down now, and the club has finalized that the former Dutch legend will continue for the next season.
In his first season in charge, Koeman did not get any of the players he demanded. The scenario has changed now. Laporta has stated that he will reinforce the squad with new signings and clear the deadwood.
The club has already signed three players and will be finalizing the deals of Gini Wjinaldum and Memphis Depay very soon. With his favorable signings, there will also be more pressure on the Dutch manager to deliver excellent results upcoming season.
