According to reports from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona has identified four potential targets for the coming summer who could arrive on free transfers.

The first name on the list is Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana. The former La Masia shot-stopper was banned from action for the past action after failing a dope test.

However, his departure from Amsterdam seems inevitable. With the date for his return nearing, several clubs are looking to sign him on a free. Though his negotiations with Inter Milan are very advanced, an offer from his former club could trigger a change of heart.

The second name on the list is that of Paul Pogba. The Manchester United midfielder has been in red form for both the Red Devils and the French National Team.

Barcelona’s desire to sign a physical midfielder has been known for a while. The dream continues to be Pogba, however, it will be difficult considering that the Frenchman will likely renew with the Reds of Manchester.

Antonio Rudiger features as the third name on the list. The German centre-back has been an integral part of the Champions League-winning Chelsea side.

However, the potential arrival of younger blood in Jules Kounde could prompt the centre-back to look for alternative choices. Barcelona would provide him with the minutes he desires and could be a reality.

The final name on the list is Franck Kessie. The AC Milan midfielder has been on the Catalans’ wishlist for a while now, however, the dream remains to get him on a free. He too is seen as a physical option for the middle of the park, a profile the team desperately need.

With all four players out of contract in the coming summer, they make ideal targets for a club in an economic crisis. However, the salary cap is still a concern, for accomodating them may be a hurdle.

I’ve watched football for years, but never again felt that special tug that I experienced when I watched Barcelona play for the first time. What started off as just a little inquisitiveness on Quora, ultimately developed into a magnificent passion for writing articles. The best part: You never stop learning in football; and it never ceases to amaze you.
