According to sources close to Marca, Barcelona are looking to loan young talent Konrad de la Fuente to another team next season. He was involved in the first-team dynamics last season, but given the amount of attacking options in the Catalans’ ranks, he did not manage to get any substantial game time.

The 19-year old will thus spend the 2021-22 campaign out on loan. As Barcelona find themselves in the middle of a major revamp under president Joan Laporta, lots of players’ futures are currently in a state of limbo, with no guarantees of their involvements.

Konrad, who has risen up through the ranks with Barcelona B under Garcia Pimienta, who has since been dismissed, made only three appearances for the senior team last season, with two of those coming against Ferencvaros and Dynamo Kyiv in the Champions League, while the third was against Cornella in the Copa del Rey.

According to the reports, the American winger has options to leave in any of the top leagues from England, France, Germany or a different La Liga outfit in Spain.

Konrad’s current deal with Barcelona runs on till June 2022, with the option to extend it unilaterally for an additional two years. The subsidiary starlet is considered one of the players who will eventually be a regular in the first team.

Hence, Barcelona are keen on loaning him out in order to facilitate his development before entering the next big stage of his career. With no dearth of options on the flanks for Barcelona, even if Ousmane Dembele were to leave, a loan move for Konrad makes the most sense, so that he does not waste his formative years on the bench.
