It has been over two months since Xavi Hernandez took over the reins as Barcelona manager. While it has not all been smooth-sailing, it is safe to say that the 41-year-old has brought about some progress within the team.

Given time, the 41-year-old can lead the team to success. But along with time, Xavi will also need the backing of the club in the transfer market. The signings of Dani Alves and Ferran Torres have had a positive impact on the team so far.

But, more new faces will be needed for Xavi to build his dream team for the next season, as he looks to bring back the glory days to Camp Nou. And, according to Fichajes, the Barcelona manager has three signings in sight for the summer to get his dream starting lineup.

The club legend is intent on recruiting two new players in the full-back slots and has his eyes on Chelsea captain and icon, Cesar Azpilicueta, along with Valencia skipper Jose Gaya. And the biggest target for Xavi, Joan Laporta & co., for the summer remains Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland.

With the trio in his plans, Xavi, as per the report, has the following lineup in his mind for the next campaign.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen would remain the Barça No. 1, despite some criticism coming his way of late. Ronald Araujo will partner either Gerard Pique or Eric Garcia at the heart of the defence, flanked by the two planned new arrivals in Azpilicueta and Gaya.

The next season could be when Sergio Busquets is slowly phased out of the starting XI, with Nico Gonzalez tipped to replace him at the base of the midfield, while fellow youngsters Pedri and Gavi take up the interior positions in the centre of the park.

Ferran Torres, who already has a goal and an assist in his last two games, would be Xavi’s preferred option on the right-wing, while Ansu Fati would be the first-choice on the left, provided his injury issues are behind him. Haaland would be the man leading the line for Barcelona in the manager’s dream lineup for next season.
