With Barcelona set to pull the trigger on two of their financial ‘levers’ to get the club out of the muddle they find themselves in, things could soon be back on track with regard to their transfer plans for the summer.

With the impending sale of a 49.9% stake in Barça Licensing & Merchandise and up to 25% of the television rights, the Blaugrana are hoping to generate funds of around €740 million to be pumped into the club.

It should allay any fears of the Fair Play implications and provide funds to invest in the squad. With that in mind, manager Xavi Hernandez has plans to sign six new players, reports Mundo Deportivo.

Barcelona already have deals in place to bring in Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen and AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie on free transfers when their contracts expire at the end of this month.

On top of the duo, Xavi has six more signings in his sights before the next season kicks off. The Barcelona manager is intent on bolstering both the full-back slots and is planning a double raid on Chelsea for Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso for the same.

Apart from the full-backs, the Barça head coach desires to add another centre-back despite the impending arrival of Christensen from Chelsea. One among Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly and Jules Kounde of Sevilla is being eyed for the position.

Moving into the middle of the park, Barcelona are likely to enter the market for a new midfielder in the summer only in the case of Frenkie de Jong’s exit. In the scenario that the Dutchman leaves, the Catalan giants will seek to add Manchester City star, Bernardo Silva.

The next two signings that Xavi wants are in the attacking third of the pitch. A new world-class striker is seen as an utmost priority, with Robert Lewandowski of Bayern Munich identified as the primary target for the position.

And, Barcelona will also look to move for Raphinha of Leeds United if they fail to extend the contract of Ousmane Dembele, whose current deal expires at the end of June.

It is clear that Xavi has lofty ambitions for the transfer window. Only time will tell whether Barcelona can fulfil these ambitions and sign the intended targets.
