Adama Traore’s homecoming was completed on Monday when he attended his first training session as a Barcelona player.

The 26-year-old joined his teammates and met Xavi Hernandez during the afternoon training session at the Ciutat Esportiva.

According to reports from Javi Miguel of Diario AS, the winger had a memorable welcome. Upon his arrival, the manager had some emotional and touching words to shower upon him. Later, the dressing room followed suit by awarding him a standing ovation.

Traore has got off to the perfect start to the second phase of his career at Barcelona. The encouragement from peers and the manager will undoubtedly do him a world of good ahead of his debut.

The Wolves winger arrives at Camp Nou on a six-month deal with a non-obligatory option to purchase for €30 million. Moreover, he is said to have taken a massive pay cut to make a return home possible.

His presentation has been scheduled for Wednesday at Camp Nou where he will formally sign the contract and don the garnet and blue once again. It is speculated that he will take the number 11 jersey at the club.

Traore arrives as an option to replace Ousmane Dembele who will either leave or see fewer minutes for the rest of the season. Though the winger can bring verticality and progression to Barcelona’s play, it remains to be seen if his record in front of goal improves.
