Barcelona have concluded a big agreement with music streaming giants Spotify for the club’s sponsorship and the naming rights of the Stadium.
Barcelona’s agreement with current sponsor Rakuten is set to come to an end at the end of the season and the club had been on the lookout for a new sponsor for a while now.
Over the past week, talks with Spotify escalated and an agreement was struck. As part of the deal worth £236 million deal (€280 million), the Swedish company will sponsor the club’s men and women team, while they will also get the naming rights for Barça’s iconic Camp Nou stadium.
The deal will come into effect in the summer when Rakuten’s €55 million per year agreement expires. It is believed that the contract between Barcelona and Spotify will run for more than three years.
Twitter user @EmazGFX has come up with three designs for a concept kit for Barcelona for next season with Spotify as the sponsor, as can be seen below.
Safe to say that the Spotify logo adorning the Barcelona colours looks classy. Fans will be waiting with bated breath to see how the kits when the designs start to emerge towards the business end of the ongoing campaign.
