After offloading several players in the summer, Barcelona have gained enough in transfer fees that will allow them to pursue a player in the winter transfer market, rumoured to be a forward.

Dani Olmo has been linked to the club, and a bid for him was rejected in the summer. While Barça will try to get his signature in the winter again, the club has already started to look for alternatives, as per a report by Catalunya Radio.

As it stands, Barcelona’s forward line is severely depleted in all forms. Ousmane Dembele is perpetually injured, while Ansu Fati is coming back from a serious injury. Martin Braithwaite provides decent depth and a direct option but is said to be out for nearly three months. Meanwhile, new signing Sergio Aguero has been rarely fit in the last two seasons.

Dani Olmo provides an option as a player who can play across the frontline, and if push comes to shove, even in the midfield as well.

As such, signing him priority numero uno, but Barcelona are not fixated on his transfer enough to pay a ridiculous fee. Olmo becomes a free agent in 2023, and signing him for a minimal amount will be easy in the summer of ’22. Till then, Joan Laporta and co. will pursue a different attacker.
