Sergio Aguero is close to breaking multiple goal-scoring records in the Premier League. According to Evening Standard, the Argentine striker is more tempted to stay in the English top-flight and write his name with golden letters in PL history.

The Argentine marksman will be one of the most wanted players after his contract runs out in June. Multiple clubs including Barcelona are interested in acquiring his services. One of the names on the table is of the PL giants, Chelsea. Sources close to him tell that he insists on a move to London.

Currently, Aguero is the 4th highest top scorer in the PL history, 6 goals behind Andrew Cole who is in 3rd place with 187 goals. Alan Shearer’s record of 260 goals is surely out of reach, however, Wayne Rooney’s record of 208 goals will be a target that he will look to beat if he pens a 2-3 years contract at the London-based club.

The Argentine forward was allowed to start talks with clubs outside England since the turn of the year, this gives other European giants a headstart to start negotiations with him. Chelsea are said to be interested in acquiring his services. The Blues have failed to create any magic even after making three hefty signings in attack in the summer.

Another fact that needs to be taken into consideration will be Aguero’s wages. Except for Manchester duo and Chelsea, none of the PL clubs would be able to pay the Argentine’s wages which will range from £200,000 to £300,000. A move to United would certainly be off the charts given the fact that Aguero will not want to harm his image in City’s fanbase.

In the Barcelona circles also the signing of Aguero is not the top priority. The coach desperately wants Memphis Depay and the board intends to land Erling Haaland. Names of players such as Lukaku and Latauro Martinez are also on the table.

It will be a wild guess to make on who the Catalan club will sign in the next summer, however, the news from England indicates that the signing of Aguero has just got more complicated.

I have been an avid watcher of football for almost a decade now. My first love was Messi and not Barcelona, however, over the years the Blaugrana colours are something I identify myself with. Through writing, I want to give back to the sport that has given me so much joy over the years.

According to reports from Corriere della Sera (relayed by SempreInter), Barcelona have now given up on their pursuit of Inter Milan striker, Lautaro Martinez. The 23-year-old has enjoyed a phenomenal season upfront with Romelu Lukaku, and he is a hot prospect in Europe. He has several skills that make him suited to a team like Barça, who have been chasing him for over a year now.

Inter were initially demanding northwards of €100m for the striker before the start of the 20/21 season. With their financial struggles, the Catalan club were unable to cope with their demands. However, the rumours linking Martinez to Barça did not die down in the months that followed. This is due to the Blaugrana’s dire need for a striker.

The Garnet and the Blue have been considering several options, with the Argentinian striker being only one out of a talented bunch including Aguero, Depay, Haaland, and more. Martinez was hotly tipped to join Barça, apparently wanting a union with his fellow Argentine teammate Lionel Messi.

However, with Inter’s meteoric rise to success, and Martinez’ key role in the team, it seems that he is no longer going to leave the club. The Milan based club is head and shoulders above all other teams in the Serie A, and look set to win their first title in eleven years.

The Argentine forward has played a huge part in Inter’s incredible campaign, scoring fifteen and assisting five in 30 matches this league campaign.

Antonio Conte has done a brilliant job with Inter, and he has also developed Martinez into a phenomenal striker; one who can both score goals as well as drop deep and create the play. With his immense pairing with Lukaku and the inevitable success of Inter, it seems impossible that a transfer is on the card for the young striker any time soon.
