Speculation regarding a move away from Barcelona for Frenkie de Jong has gained a lot of traction over the last couple of months. The Dutchman is a key player for the Blaugrana, but his future has constantly been up for debate.

In the latest of a long string of reports, SPORT claim that the 24-year-old has the attention of French champions Paris Saint-Germain, who are on the lookout for two high-quality midfielders.

This interest from PSG comes amid talk that new Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag also wants to sign Frenkie de Jong for the Red Devils as part of a massive revamp in the summer.

Furthermore, there are also reports that the midfielder has fallen out with Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez. But in all likelihood, those rumours are unsubstantiated.

Various French media claim that PSG will throw themselves into the mix for de Jong, should Barcelona agree to transfer him if he wants a change of scenery. The Ligue One side have reportedly informed the player’s entourage of their interest.

Bayern Munich’s name also been floating around as one of the contenders. Barcelona are well aware of the interest de Jong generates and an internal debate about his sale is reportedly ongoing.

However, the Spanish outlet claim that de Jong does not seem to want a move, unless he is forced out. It is unlikely that Barcelona will let him leave either, unless a very lucrative offer comes in.
