Following their narrow win against Mallorca on the weekend, Barcelona will travel to fashion capital Milan to take on Inter Milan tonight.
It is the third round of the 2022/23 Champions League season, and a win here could essentially solidify Barcelona’s qualification to the next round, while also keeping them in contention for the top spot of the group.
For this all-important game, Xavi has chosen to experiment with the team, just a bit, though. Eric Garcia returns to the side as one of the central defenders, paired alongside Andreas Christensen in the heart of the defence.
Marcos Alonso joins them as the left-back, while Sergi Roberto starts on the other side as the right-back. This back-four will screen Marc-Andre ter Stegen in goal.
In midfield, Kessie is replaced by Pedri, while captain Sergio Busquets retains his place as the anchor. The final piece in the centre of the park is Gavi, who was reportedly dealing with an injury, but has been given the medical green light.
Roberto Lewandowski is essential to everything the team does in attack, and takes his place as the central striker. Ousmane Dembele continues in his aid as one of the wingers, but Ansu Fati is benched in favour of Raphinha.
