Update: PSG officially communicated that the player will be unavailable due to injury.

According to the reliable journalist Loïc Tanzi from RMC, Neymar is set to miss the clash against Barcelona in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16. The Brazilian did some individual work today instead of training with the group and needs a couple of more days to fully recover.

The news comes over unfortunately for not only PSG fans who wanted to see him perform against his former club, but also Neymar himself, who has communicated earlier via his Twitter account that this is one of the games he wants to play the most in.

PSG had won the first clash by a big margin, 4-1 away from their home, which means that despite the unavailability of their star winger, they still hold the leg in their hands. Barcelona relies on a remontada, but with the new president Joan Laporta in office, Culés have faith that anything can happen.

“Let’s go to PSG, and see if we can make a comeback!”, said Laporta during his celebration at the Camp Nou after winning the presidential elections.

We will have to wait and see whether Barcelona can make another historical comeback, just like the one on 8 March 2017, winning the leg with a 6-1 victory after losing the first game 4-0 against the French side.

One thing is sure: with Neymar unavailable for PSG, the chances for Barcelona are higher -despite still being low- compared to the case of him playing.
