In a positive update, Mundo Deportivo is reporting that Barcelona trio Andreas Christensen, Ronald Araujo and Frenkie de Jong will all be fit and available for selection when they take on Real Sociedad in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday.

De Jong and Araujo returned from Saudi Arabia with minor discomforts after the win against Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup. As a result, the pair did not travel for Barça’s Copa del Rey Round of 16 clash against AD Ceuta.

While the pair did return to the squad for Sunday’s La Liga encounter against Getafe, Xavi opted not to risk the defender and the midfielder and left them on the bench as unused substitutes.

Meanwhile, Christensen started the game against Getafe at Camp Nou, but came off at half-time due to a hamstring injury.

Given the form that the Danish international has been in of late, his substitution had raised some alarms within the fanbase.

However, it seems like the knock he sustained against Getafe is not serious and he will be available at Xavi’s disposal for the cup tie against Real Sociedad.

The manager will announce the squad list for the Copa del Rey quarter-finals against La Real tomorrow and Christensen, de Jong, and Araujo are all expected to be named on the list.

The report from Mundo Deportivo further adds that there may be a chance that Araujo and de Jong could return to the starting XI against Imanol Alguacil’s side, but Christensen could be benched.
