Barcelona are on road to building a dynasty if they can, for the first time in years, get things right.

Led by Joan Laporta’s board, the Catalans have managed to assemble an impressive unit of young ballers who could mark an era at the club.

Even as recently as last summer, they brought in the likes of Jules Kounde, Raphinha, Franck Kessie, and Andreas Christensen; the oldest of whom is 26.

Barcelona are en route their first La Liga title in four seasons, and at the heart of this team remains four ‘untouchables’, as reported by SPORT.

Pedri

The beating heart of the Barcelona midfield, Pedri is arguably the most important player for the club. The Spaniard has played the second-most minutes in the squad this season, only behind Marc-Andre ter Stegen, and for good reason, too.

Barça brought him in from Las Palmas for a sum below €15 million, and were close to leasing him out to Bayern Munich in the same summer. Ronald Koeman intercepted the move, and the rest, as they say is history.

Pedri has scored six goals this season in the league, including four winners and one equaliser.

While the player has kept his future open in case of Premier League interest, there is little to no chance of the player leaving Camp Nou.

Gavi

The one true La Masia product in this list, Pablo Paiz Gavira is Barcelona through and through at heart.

After breaking through under Ronald Koeman last season, Gavi immediately became a starter for Barcelona under Xavi and has since played multiple positions under both managers.

He was also promoted to the first team with the legendary #6 jersey, after a few hiccups regarding his registration, which was overturned again.

And while there is a clause in his contract that allows him to leave for free if left unregistered, the player is fully focused on Barça and does not consider leaving at all.

Ronald Araujo

Another one of Barcelona’s early acquisitions, Araujo is undoubtedly one of the team’s leaders despite only being 24.

He has been at the club since 2018 and has also played with Barcelona B before eventually becoming a starter for the first team.

Before he signed an extension, there was a ton of interest in him from the Premier League, including Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool, but the player decided to renew on a lower salary than anything he would be offered from England.

Frenkie de Jong

The most interesting of the four, Frenkie de Jong has gone from becoming a priority disposal asset to one of the most important players for Xavi.

The Dutchman was incredibly close to joining Manchester United for €85 million in the summer, but refused to leave Camp Nou despite not having a place in the starting XI.

A few months on, though, he has become an undisputed starter in Xavi’s new 4-3-3 formation, forming a double pivot alongside Sergio Busquets.

He is also one of the Blaugrana’s players of the season, alongside Pedri and Marc-Andre ter Stegen. And while United and Erik ten Hag continue dreaming about him in the summer, de Jong’s future now lies at Camp Nou.
