Barcelona returned to their home comforts from their pre-season camp in the United States of America earlier this week.

Upon returning, manager Xavi Hernandez gave the team a break until Sunday when the players will resume training before the season starts.

And as per Mundo Deportivo, four of the seven academy youngsters who had travelled to the USA will continue under Xavi’s command in the first-team dynamics.

The Barcelona boss had taken seven young prospects with the senior team to the USA – Lamine Yamal, Aleix Garrido, Fermin Lopez, Ander Astralaga, Alex Valle, Mikayil Faye, and Marc Casado.

Among those, though, three of them – Garrido, Casado, and Faye, are already back training with Barça Atletic under Rafa Marquez.

Meanwhile, the report indicates that Lopez, Yamal, Valle, and Astalaga will continue with the senior team for the rest of the pre-season before the campaign begins and possibly even after that.

Lopez was bound to earn a spot in the first-team plans after his impressive displays in pre-season, in particular against Real Madrid, when he scored a fine goal.

As for Yamal, it has been long known that the 16-year-old was going to be a part of Xavi’s plans and Ousmane Dembele’s imminent departure means that the academy prodigy is set for an increased role.

As for Astralaga, the youngster is set to become the third-choice goalkeeper with the first team now that Arnau Tenas has left for PSG.

As for Alex Valle, it has been previously reported that the left-back’s time with Barça Atletic is at an end and that he will either be in the first-team dynamics or leave on loan. With Alejandro Balde and Marcos Alonso ahead of him, a loan departure might not be ruled out.
