Barcelona celebrated a brilliant reunion last week with the return of Xavi to the club in the capacity of the head coach. Soon after that, they have been greeted with the return of none other than Dani ‘crazy good’ Alves.

The Brazilian was linked with Barça for the last two weeks, but a return looked unlikely. Well, till Xavi joined and gave the green light to his return. The ever-reliable Fabrizio Romano has confirmed this, and here-we-go’d Alves to Barcelona.

Barça are severaly lacking in the defence and it is likely that Alves’ return could facilitate the shift for Oscar Mingueza to move back to central defence. Moreover, the 38-year-old could also finally help Sergi Roberto move to midfield, which he claims to be his natural position.

Most importantly, it is a given that Alves would be joining on a very low salary, so not only would it not put a strain of Barcelona’s finances, but it would help life morale in the dressing room.

Andres Iniesta has spoken about moving back to Barça in one capacity or another recently, while Carles Puyol has been linked with a job in the sporting department. The gang is well and truly getting back together.
