According to a report published by AS, Ousmane Dembele does not quite understand his body and is unable to understand the injuries that may be happening to him.
Against Cadiz, for example, Dembele was brought on at the half-time mark for Philippe Coutinho who put in a dreadful shift. However, almost immediately, Dembele felt a stinging pain in his hamstring, but refused to inform the medics. Consequently he continued on the pitch for the rest of the 45 minutes.
Not only did he fail to make an impact in the game, but tests also conducted post-game revealed an elongation in the biceps femurs in the right leg. It is the same injury he has suffered several times in this Barcelona career, which meant that even the time of his return was in the air, speculated anytime between two to three weeks.
The primary concern here is that if Dembele knew how to read his body, he would have informed Ronald Koeman, and received treatment early in the game after being subbed off. That would have reduced his recovery time considerably. However, all efforts of him enjoying an injury-free season will go in vain if he continues like this.
