Bayern Munich reach agreement to sign Barcelona defensive target

Barcelona can kiss goodbye to their hopes of signing AFC Ajax defender Noussair Mazraoui as he has an agreement with German champions Bayern Munich.
This claim comes from a report from Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla (h/t SPORT), which states that the Moroccan international has given a green light to the Bavarian giants over a summer transfer.
Mazraoui is in the final few months of his contract with Ajax and had been on the radars of Barcelona for months now. Indeed, the right-back was offered to the Catalan club by his agent Mino Raiola after it became clear that he would not sign a new deal with his current team.
At 24, with a good level of experience, Barça saw him as a fine market opportunity especially given that they needed a right-back to eventually replace Dani Alves.
All things pointed towards an agreement with the Blaugrana and the defender. But things changed once Bayern Munich entered the picture for the Ajax ace.
The Bavarians are desperate to sign a new right-sided full-back and have seemingly moved in on Mazraoui. As per the report, the 24-year-old has agreed a contract worth €4 million per year and will, in all likelihood, be plying his trade at the Allianz Arena next term.
This move will likely alter Barcelona’s transfer plans with regard to the right-back slot. Along with Mazraoui, Chelsea’s Cesar Azpilicueta was also a target for the club but could end up staying at Stamford Bridge after his one-year contract extension was triggered.
It could compel Barça to extend the contract of senior defender Alves by another year. At the same time, Sergino Dest, who was on the radars of Bayern, Atletico Madrid and Chelsea, might be taken off the transfer list and kept at the club by the Catalans.
