Xavi’s plan at Barcelona is taking its shape already, leaving many excited about what’s to come in the future.

The former midfielder has done exceptionally well to build a team around young players while retaining the services of some of the wise heads, thus creating a unique combination of experience and youthful exuberance.

Barcelona, though, are bracing themselves for a busy summer ahead, as coach Xavi looks to filter his squad further. The Catalans have already been primed to sign two players on a free transfer in the form of Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie.

According to Diario Sport, Barça could be on the verge of sealing their third signing of the new season in Noussair Mazraoui.

The report states that the Ajax fullback, whose contract expires at the end of the season, was recently courted by Real Madrid.

But Los Blancos were left disappointed as they soon found out that Mazraoui had already agreed a pre-contract deal to sign for Barcelona in the new season. FC Bayern were the other club interested in his services.

Mazraoui, though, has his intentions set on a move to Camp Nou in the new season and become a part of Xavi’s grand setup. His potential arrival could serve as a massive boost for the Blaugrana, especially with Dani Alves being reportedly unsure of his commitments towards a contract extension.

At the age of 24, the Moroccan international has a bright future ahead of him. His technical prowess on the flanks could make him a vital cog to Xavi’s tactical setup, with the player hoping a move to Barcelona can help him emerge as one of the best right-backs in Europe.
