As Franck Kessie’s future continues to be a topic of discussion in the media, it appears that the midfielder has found himself yet another suitor.

The 26-year-old has been put up for sale by Barcelona this summer due to the club’s need to generate revenue and the overbooking of midfielders in the squad.

Juventus have shown the strongest interest in signing the Ivorian and pushing for a decision, while Tottenham are also looking at the midfielder, but are yet to make a concrete move.

Al-Ahli rekindle interest in Kessie

Now, according to SPORT, Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Ahli have revived their interest in Kessie and are ready to submit an offer for the Barcelona midfielder. The player could also be open to the switch if he receives a big contract proposal.

Al-Ahli had been previously linked with a move for the 26-year-old ace, along with fellow Middle East side Al Nassr.

However, the talks of a move to Saudi Arabia had gone quiet owing to the player’s desire to continue in Europe.

But, Al Ahly have now decided to test the waters again and try and lure Kessie away from Catalonia in the coming weeks.

Kessie has already spoken to Xavi and is aware that he does not have a future at Barcelona.

The midfielder’s entourage have held talks with Juventus, who wish to sign him on a season-long loan deal with a permanent purchase option. However, a return to Italy does not appeal to the player, who harbours hopes of a move to the Premier League.

But with there being no proposal from Tottenham yet, Kessie is now willing to listen to the proposals from Al Ahly.

The report further goes on to claim that Kessie, unlike his Barcelona teammate Clement Lenglet, would be willing to make the jump to Saudi Arabia if he were to receive a huge contract offer from Al Ahli.

Barça are also waiting to hear the proposal from the Middle East club as they believe they could stand to gain more financially.

Initially, the Catalans were asking for at least €15 million for Kessie but could jack up the price if Al Ahli make concrete efforts to sign the Ivorian.
