Barcelona reach full agreement with Man United over Frenkie de Jong

The likes of Raphinha and Ousmane Dembele have dominated the dialogue in Barcelona in recent days, with both the players set to don the Blaugrana kit for the coming season.
However, it appears there has been an update on the future of Frenkie de Jong, who has been linked with a move away from Camp Nou throughout the past couple of months.
Manchester United have emerged as the likely suitor for the midfielder, with their new coach Erik ten Hag keen on a reunion with the Dutchman.
And according to reliable journalist David Ornstein, the Premier League giants have now reached a total agreement with Barcelona over the signing of the former Ajax starlet.
The said agreement could be worth up to €75 million, with Man United set to include €10 million in potential variables, thereby taking the overall valuation to the €85 million mark.
Reaching an agreement with Barça could be a step in the right direction, as far as Manchester United are concerned. However, the Red Devils have a long way to go before they can successfully secure the services of the Dutch international.
Indeed, the Barcelona midfield ace has offered no hints on his desire to reunite with ten Hag. On the contrary, he is keen on continuing his chapter at Barcelona and play a vital role in Xavi’s unit in the years to come.
Xavi himself rates the player highly but the Barcelona coach has accepted the club’s financial situation, thus giving the green light for the board to sanction his sale in the summer.
However, with Barcelona owing de Jong a chunk of his salary through deferred wages, the operation is taking a complicated turn. But with the club informing him to leave, it remains to be seen if de Jong is willing to consider joining Manchester United.
