Barcelona are planning a major clearout from the roster this summer as they look to trim down their wage bill so that they can successfully accommodate new players that they sign, reports Santi Ovalle.

Out-of-favour stars like Samuel Umtiti, Riqui Puig and Oscar Mingueza are expected to be sold while the club also remains keen on getting rid of Clement Lenglet and Martin Braithwaite, although there could be some resistance on their part over an exit.

Along with the five aforementioned players, Barcelona have also put Dutch duo Frenkie de Jong and Memphis Depay on the market, as per Santi Ovalle.

De Jong is seen as one of the most sellable assets at the club while his wages, which are set to rise to €19 million per year from next season, make him one of the highest earners at Camp Nou.

Given the prevailing financial situation at the club, the Blaugrana are looking to get rid of him despite the activation of the economic levers. And they could be close to achieving their aim as Manchester United are reportedly closing in on signing the 25-year-old midfielder.

As for Depay, contradicting reports continue to emerge over his future at Camp Nou. It has previously been claimed that the Netherlands international is seen as a valuable asset by the coaching staff who wish to keep him around.

Furthermore, there have also been talks about a potential new deal for the 28-year-old former Manchester United forward. But, Ovalle is now reporting that Barcelona have made Depay available for a transfer.

If that is indeed the case, there will be no shortage of suitors for the Dutch ace, who is entering the final year of his contract at Camp Nou and could be available for a reasonable transfer fee.

As things stand, de Jong seems closer and closer to an exit from Barcelona, with a transfer to Manchester United on the horizon. As for Depay, though, only time will tell if he remains at Camp Nou or is offloaded by the club for a financial boost.
