Journalist Fabrizio Romano has affirmed that Saudi side Al-Ahli are still interested in signing Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie and the Blaugrana are only waiting for a formal offer to arrive.

The Barcelona management and Xavi have been extremely clear with the player that they want to cash in on him.

And since he is up on the market, the journalist has confirmed that Serie A side Juventus and two other Premier League teams have also been showing interest for weeks.

Al-Ahli’s rejuvenated interest

It has been established that Al-Ahli had expressed interest in signing Kessie earlier during the window along with Al Nassr.

The team from Saudi Pro League, however, had pulled out of the deal but as it turns out, they have decided to get back on the horse.

As far as the player is concerned, he has always pressed that he wants to continue, but Barcelona have anyway put him on the market in order to generate revenue and comply with La Liga’s wage bill regulation.

As reported before, Al-Ahli’s interest is quite firm this time. In fact, they are ready to submit an offer for the player and if the numbers on the paper are good, he would be open to the move.

Good market value and decent demand

Kessie, whose market value stands at €25 million at this moment, has generated decent demand in the market.

Apart from Al-Ahli, he is also being chased by Juventus and two Premier League clubs, one of whom are likely Tottenham Hotspur.

Recent reports suggested that Liverpool too like the 26-year-old Ivorian, although they are yet to make any move.

Meanwhile, Juventus are said to be pushing to know about the midfielder’s decision as soon as possible.

As opposed to a direct transfer, they are approaching a loan move with a mandatory purchase option of €10 to €15 million, but Barcelona prefer a permanent exit.
