Barcelona looking at two players to replace Memphis Depay in the winter – report

The exit of Memphis Depay appears to be imminent, with Atletico Madrid on the verge of sealing the deal to sign the Dutch international.
The departure of Depay should help Barça balance the books, to an extent. But even though the club’s main priority in January is to reduce the wage bill, they also intend to sign at least one player in an attempt to strengthen the squad.
Yannick Carrasco was mooted as one of the potential replacements for Depay, but Atletico Madrid are reluctant to offload him in the middle of the season.
According to Ferran Martinez, Barcelona have no shortage of options in the market right now despite the setback with Carrasco. In fact, they have already received offers to sign two players in the market, in the form of Marcelo Brozovic and Goncalo Guedes.
Brozovic has been in the news lately in Barcelona, with the club reportedly in talks with Inter Milan over a swap deal involving him and Franck Kessie. But the deal is highly dependent on the players, which is problematic as Kessie has shown no desire to leave Camp Nou.
As for Guedes, the situation is much more interesting. The Portuguese international had joined Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer for a deal worth over €30 million. But he has fallen out of favour and does not share a good relationship with new coach Julen Lopetegui.
Guedes, therefore, is looking for a way out of Molineux and is open to joining Barcelona. Wolves’ signing of Matheus Cunha and Pablo Sarabia could further facilitate the exit of the versatile attacker, who has a vast experience in Spanish football.
However, nothing is final yet. Guedes is expected to wait out a few more days to see how things evolve. Barcelona, too, have remained calm about the situation, though they are actively trying to find out solutions to sign Brozovic.
