Earlier today, it had been reported that Juventus are open to offering Federico Chiesa to Barcelona as part of the deal to sign Franck Kessie.

Building on it, SPORT has published a report saying that although Barça like the player, they have their fair share of doubts about his physical condition.

It is no secret that Barcelona want to offload Kessie in order to generate more income. In turn, their idea is to strengthen other parts of the teams with the money coming in.

As of today, Juventus have requested a meeting with Barça later this week when the two teams face off in a pre-season friendly in the United States. When the delegates from the two teams meet, they will discuss the move in much more detail.

It had previously been suggested that Juve would prefer to sign Kessie on a loan-to-buy deal. But it appears that they are now open to a player-exchange operation which would see Chiesa move to Barcelona.

SPORT claims that Chiesa’s relationship with Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri is extremely tense and this could work in the favour of Barcelona, who happen to like the player a lot. Above all, it is also said that the Blaugrana have been following him for months.

Now, Juventus and Barcelona share an excellent relationship, having previously been involved in an exchange deal involving Arthur Melo and Miralem Pjanic.

Furthermore, the Catalans even have a good relationship with the player’s environment, but his physical condition seems to be the only problem.

There is indeed no doubt about the player’s talent and his ability to play across various positions but it must be noted that he only recovered from a serious knee injury last season and is yet to reach his best levels.

At present, Barcelona are willing to listen to what Juventus have to offer. From their perspective, they have always maintained that they would like to receive a transfer fee, but the team from Turin are looking to avoid the same by offering a player in return.
