Barcelona legend tells superstar striker to ’follow his heart’

Last week, Ronaldinho returned to the city of Barcelona to attend a publicity event. During his stay in Catalonia, the club legend spoke via CUATRO about Erling Haaland and his possible move to Barcelona.
The Norweigan international has offers from several top European clubs on the table and is yet to make a final decision. However, Barcelona have taken a step back in the race recently because of their inability to compete on financial terms with Real Madrid and Manchester City.
When asked if Haaland should move to Barcelona, Ronaldinho advised the youngster to follow his dream, irrespective of what it was. He said,
“I had Manchester United as an option and I went to Barcelona because it was my dream. Haaland must follow his dream, but I don’t know what it is.”
Joan Laporta is said to have informed Raiola about the club’s interest to launch one final attempt to sign Haaland in the coming days. Though the Catalans cannot offer an improved financial deal, they hope that the sporting project appeals to the player.
The chances of the striker moving to Barcelona are slim, especially given that Pep Guardiola is pushing for Haaland’s move to Manchester City.
It remains to be seen if the star striker chooses money or a sporting project as his priority. In terms of the latter, very few teams in the world can offer a clear project like Barcelona do.
Later in the interview, Ronaldinho was asked about his thoughts on Barcelona’s latest star Pedri. He commented,
“He has a lot of quality. He can make history at the Camp Nou.”
