In addition to cultivating young talents from the academy, Barcelona continue to keep a vigilant eye on foreign prospects with bright futures.

After the appointment of Deco as sporting director, Barcelona have been particularly keeping tabs on the Brazilian market.

The club officially announced the signing of Vitor Roque this past summer, and Estevao Willian, also known as Messinho, has been one of the Brazilian prodigies on their radar.

Along with players like Endrick and Vitor Roque, the 16-year-old Palmeiras prodigy is seen as one of the most promising young prospects in Brazil, creating quite a stir in South America.

Barcelona closely monitoring the player

Indeed, according to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona does not miss any detail about the development of ‘Messinho’, who, as it turns out, is also a fan of the club.

However, the report also mentions that Real Madrid are also closely following the player, especially after his impressive under-17 World Cup campaign.

The Merengues have been increasingly active in the Brazilian market, having found considerable success previously with the signings of Rodrygo and Vinicius Jr., and are now set to welcome Endrick next summer.

As such, Barcelona will potentially have to face competition from their eternal rivals if they are to pursue the signing of Estevao Willian down the line.

Esetavao is a fan of Barcelona

Estevao’s admiration for Barcelona is no secret now, and it gives the Catalans a great advantage in the race for his signature.

He explicitly claimed it would be “a dream come true” to play for Barça, where his idols Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, and Neymar played.

With the 16-year-old prospect publicly a Blaugrana fan, Barcelona would be hoping to not lose him from their clutches when the player is finally ready to make the move to Europe.
