Araujo and Garcia laud ‘perfect game’ after Barcelona’s 0-4 hammering of Real Madrid

An inspired performance from Xavi Hernandez’s Barcelona side saw them run riot at the Santiago Bernabeu, dispatching their great rivals Real Madrid with four unanswered goals.
Captain Sergio Busquets believed it was an indication that the Blaugrana are finally waking from their slumber. Not only were the Catalans firing on all cylinders in attack, but their defence also looked excellent.
Eric Garcia and Ronald Araujo had brilliant showings at the back, with the latter even netting his side’s second goal with a trademark towering header. The pair were infallible at the back, dealing very well with everything Real Madrid threw at them. Here are the two defenders’ thoughts on the game.
Garcia on the performance: “This was a perfect game from the very start. We are so happy.”
Garcia on the youth stepping up: “This was a perfect game from the very start. We are so happy.”
Garcia on the scoreline: “To be honest, I was thinking that we needed to score the 5-0 as we played.”
Araujo on his goal: “Scoring a goal in my first match at the Bernabeu was great. It’s an incredible feeling.”
Araujo on defending Vinicius Jr: “I was ready for that.”
Araujo on filling in at right-back: “Right-back, centre-back, I’ll play whatever the coach asks me to.”
