Adama Traore is Barcelona’s latest signing in the winter transfer window. Though there has been no official confirmation of the same from the club, the Spanish winger was seen at the club facilities yesterday and has passed his medical examinations.

The move is expected to be announced on Saturday with an official presentation scheduled for Monday. Traore spoke to the media briefly on his way out of the El Prat airport in Barcelona.

Mundo Deportivo reveals that when asked about his feelings over signing for his childhood club, he said, “I am very happy to return to Barca.”

The Wolverhampton Wanderers player is thought to be a direct replacement for Ousmane Dembele. The Frenchman’s situation at Barcelona is still hazy, and he is likely to spend the rest of the season on the stands. Traore could cover for the loss of Dembele with his agile, yet physical presence on the right-wing.

The player is no stranger to Barcelona, having grown up at La Masia and also making his first-team debut in 2013. However, he soon left after a deficit of minutes and made his presence known in the Premier League.

Statistically, Traore is amongst the most efficient dribblers in Europe. He averages over four successful dribbles per 90 with a success rate over 81%. However, his statistics in front of the goal are far from impressive.

Barcelona do not have a mandatory purchase clause attacked to his six-month loan. However, they can opt to make it a permanent deal for a fee of €30 million.
