19-year-old Barcelona starlet will train with first team, could be called up against Celta Vigo

In the aftermath of the international break, Barcelona have emerged as one of the worst-hit clubs, in terms of injuries.
Especially in the defensive unit, the club have lost out on the services of Ronald Araujo, who has had to undergo surgery. Jules Kounde and Hector Bellerin are out injured as well while Andreas Christensen picked up a knock in the defeat to Inter Milan.
The Danish international has been ruled out for the upcoming El Clasico, effectively leaving Xavi Hernandez with Gerard Pique and Eric Garcia as his only two senior options in the central defensive unit.
In light of the injury crisis in the defensive unit, the Barcelona coach is ready to call up Chadi Riad from the Barça Atletic setup for the upcoming La Liga encounter against Celta Vigo this coming weekend.
This has been reported by journalist Albert Roge, who claims that the 19-year-old prospect will train with the first team tomorrow. He will be brought in as a backup to Pique and Garcia in the central defensive spots ahead of the upcoming La Liga contest against Celta Vigo.
A centre-back by trade, Chadi Riad is one of the top performers of the Barça Atletic setup this season. Formerly of the Mallorca youth academy, the youngster has built a formidable defensive partnership with Pelayo Fernandez.
Standing at 1.86m, Chadi has impressed the onlookers with his strong stature at the back. He is technically sound enough to seamlessly fit into Xavi’s tactical setup as well.
Even though he has virtually no experience at the highest level of football, considering Barcelona’s injury woes and limited options at the back, it will be interesting to see if the youngster gets a few minutes against Celta Vigo this weekend.
