With Barcelona set to take on RCD Mallorca at Estadi de Son Moix in a few hours, Toni Juanmarti of SPORT has come up with a fresh scoop regarding the Blaugrana’s possible starting XI tonight.

Given that the games are coming thick and fast, Xavi Hernandez had already indicated that he would be making some rotations to keep his players fresh and avoid any injury risks.

The 43-year-old tactician had made a few alterations to the starting XI for the weekend’s clash against Celta Vigo and is set to ring in more changes tonight.

Lewandowski to be benched

Indeed, as per the report, Barcelona superstar and leading goalscorer Robert Lewandowski is set to be benched by Xavi against Mallorca tonight.

The 35-year-old made a rusty start to the season but has been back among the goals in recent fixtures.

In fact, the Poland captain was one of the heroes for Barça in their 3-2 comeback win over Celta Vigo on Sunday, scoring a late brace to drag his team back into the contest.

Lewandowski is also the joint top-scorer in La Liga this season with five goals from six games, same as Jude Bellingham and Alvaro Morata of Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, respectively.

But the veteran striker is one of the few players who has started each of Barcelona’s matches so far this season and Xavi sees tonight’s game as the best chance to give him a break.

Felix-Ferran-Raphinha to be the frontline

With Robert Lewandowski set to be benched, Ferran Torres is in line to spearhead the Barcelona attack against Mallorca tonight.

The Spaniard will have support from Raphinha on the right, who is set to get the nod ahead of Lamine Yamal, while Joao Felix is expected to keep his place on the left flank.

Meanwhile, there could be a major change in defence as well, with Jules Kounde likely to be given a rest and Inigo Martinez stepping into the team in his place of him.
