Xavi left disappointed with Barcelona duo after 1-0 loss against Almeria

Barcelona’s problems were compounded by a 1-0 defeat to Almeria at the weekend. The performance left coach Xavi Hernandez extremely frustrated and it was evident in his post-match presser.
But even during the game, the Barcelona coach seemed angry at the players for not doing enough. He was not happy with what he was seeing on the pitch and was very animated throughout the game.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Xavi was particularly annoyed at two Barcelona players in the form of Sergio Busquets and Gavi, two of his most trusted midfield outlets.
Xavi’s anger at Busquets came after the veteran midfielder, who is the seniormost leader in the team, lost balls easily and conceded turnovers. He also looked far too casual with his distribution.
Xavi addressed Busquets on the pitch, asking for more attitude and urging the midfielder to listen to his advice.
Another player Xavi got frustrated with was Gavi. The young midfield phenom notably conceded the turnover that led to Almeria’s winner. He was too casual with the ball and eventually got dispossessed by Rodrigo Ely, eventually leading to the goal.
The turnover infuriated Xavi, with the Barcelona coach even looking to change the complexion of the game by bringing in four players during the second half. But it did not have a significant impact on the proceedings.
To make things worse, Xavi had to deal with the injury of Robert Lewandowski, who has now been ruled out for two weeks. The Polish international joins Pedri and Ousmane Dembele on the list of players unavailable for Barcelona ahead of the upcoming Copa Del Rey tie against Real Madrid.
