Sporting CP have recently emerged as a potential destination for Hector Bellerin. The Portuguese giants have been alerted to the right-back’s situation at Barcelona and want to sign him in the ongoing January transfer window.
According to Diario SPORT, Bellerin has received Xavi Hernandez’s blessing for a move to Sporting in January. The Barcelona coach has heard the player’s struggles at Camp Nou and is willing to give him the green light to move on.
Bellerin, after all, is not considered a key player in the Barça squad. After signing in the summer, the Spaniard has fallen out of favour and is only playing a sporadic role in the team, having started in only one league game this season.
Bellerin himself is aware of his dwindling prospects in the first-team. Although he remains one of the few recognised right-backs in the team, he is aware of the fact that getting regular game-time could be difficult during the second half of the campaign.
This has led to the former Arsenal starlet considering a move to Sporting CP. Earlier this month, Barça appeared to be reluctant in offloading the player as they were not in a position to sign a replacement.
But amid Barça’s ongoing hunt for Brazilian whizkid Wesley, the club are open to sanctioning the exit of Bellerin.
However, the Catalans are not going to make life easier for Sporting. According to Matteo Moretto, the club have demanded a small variable or bonuses for the player’s performance, as compensation for his move to Sporting in January.
The Portuguese giants are open to listening to demands, but with just days left before the transfer window slams to a shut, the time is certainly running out for both entities.
