Real Madrid defeat Barcelona by two goals to one in El Clásico, and go 1 point ahead of the Catalans in the La Liga table. Barcelona dominated possession in the first half, but found themselves 2-0 down at the break, after some wonderfully effective counter-attacking football from Zidane’s side. Despite a big push from the ‘Blaugrana’ in the second period, the 3 points remained in Madrid, in an absolutely massive game.

Barcelona will be massively disappointed that they were unable to get anything from such a crucial clash, especially after dominating that second half, and creating numerous chances. Ultimately, it is the team’s faulty defence and failure to win in an imperative game that has cost us dear again tonight.

There will certainly be controversy surrounding the officiating tonight, with Barça certainly having some good shouts for penalties, especially with the clumsy challenge from Mendy on Braithwaite in the second half. But tonight, it is defeat for Barcelona, as La Liga slips away again, with Barcelona needing to win all eight of their remaining fixtures as well as hope that both Atlético and Real slip up along the way, in order to have a serious chance of winning this title in incredible fashion.

It’s Copa del Rey Final time now for Koeman’s side, in what has become an even more gargantuan clash than it was already. Koeman’s Barcelona must show that they can get over the line when it matters most, and deliver silverware in this crazy season. A victory in Saturday’s Cup Final would be a massive boost to all Culers.

My passion has always been football. Not just playing football, but also watching, analysing and talking about it. Football is my life. It’s what I wake up thinking about and go to bed worrying about. Although I love playing football, it is watching, analysing and sharing my thoughts on the game that inspires me. I began sharing my opinions on my YouTube channel from a very young age, and I am now delighted to be part of this fantastic team at Barça Universal. Barça is a huge part of my life and will always be. Força Barça!
