Watch: Barcelona vs Bayern Munich, Match Preview

Barcelona kickstart their Champions League campaign with a huge clash at the Camp Nou, taking on German champions Bayern Munich, for what should be a thriller in Cataluña. The game will be Barcelona’s first following a dramatic deadline day, whereas Bayern Munich will feel in full flow after beating RB Leipzig 4-1 on Saturday.

Ronald Koeman’s side enter the clash in interesting circumstances, with several important first team players out injured, and others doubtful to start. It is common belief that the Catalans will need a miracle if they are to pick up three points on matchday one.

New signing Luuk de Jong is likely to partner Memphis Depay up top for Barcelona, whereas Óscar Mingueza is also likely to pick up his first start of the season in defence. Fans’ eyes will also be peeled to see Philippe Coutinho in action for the first time since 2020, following his long-term absence.

Bayern Munich will feel full of confidence heading into this clash, and have been tipped for another big win over Barcelona. The Germans beat the ‘Blaugrana’ 8-2 in an unforgettable match just 13 months ago now, and have made a fast start to their domestic season under new coach Julian Nagelsmann.

My passion has always been football. Not just playing football, but also watching, analysing and talking about it. Football is my life. It’s what I wake up thinking about and go to bed worrying about. Although I love playing football, it is watching, analysing and sharing my thoughts on the game that inspires me. I began sharing my opinions on my YouTube channel from a very young age, and I am now delighted to be part of this fantastic team at Barça Universal. Barça is a huge part of my life and will always be. Força Barça!
