Watch: Barcelona 4-2 Real Sociedad, Match Review
Barcelona kickstart their La Liga campaign and the post-Messi era with an impressive victory over Real Sociedad at the Camp Nou on Sunday evening. Goals from Gerard Piqué, Martin Braithwaite (2) and Sergi Roberto sealed all three points for the Catalans, despite a late scare from ‘La Real’.
Ronald Koeman also handed debuts to Eric García and Memphis Depay, who both thoroughly impressed on the night, as well as some late minutes for youngster Nico González. Barcelona were dominant for large periods of the match, and looked especially energetic in the first half.
Next up, it’s Athletic Club at San Mamés for Ronald Koeman’s side, in what will be another difficult test for Barcelona, who will need to continue their good work with off the ball, and ensure that cheap goals are not given away.
