One of the most anticipated points of Barcelona’s season is set to be the arrival of Brazilian sensation Vitor Roque in January.

The talented striker is tipped to be among the greatest crop of talents from this new generation of Brazilian footballers and was enjoying a terrific season with Athletico Paranaense.

Unfortunately, his momentum was disrupted by a serious ankle ligament injury that he suffered after bearing the brunt of a crunching tackle by Nico Hernandez, having to leave the field in immense pain.

Now, in quotes relayed via SPORT, Vitor Roque has issued an update on his condition, speaking to his agency about what he has to look forward to in upcoming months, including the much-anticipated move to Spain.

Roque’s recovery is progressing quickly

Recent reports have indicated that Roque’s recovery is on a much better track than initially anticipated, and his agent Andre Cury highlights that the striker should be back on the pitch training in just four weeks, to weeks earlier than planned.

“Unfortunately this is part of our profession as elite athletes, but I feel very positive, confident and motivated for my return. I have a very qualified team with me, a great structure to be able to return to 100%,” said Roque.

As such, the youngster has plenty to look forward to, and he also reflected on his time in South America, already etching his name as one of the top goalscorers in Copa Libertadores history.

“I’m very happy to reach these milestones in my career and having already experienced so many things,” Roque continued.

“I look back and see everything I went through and faced to get to where I am today.”

He then thanked all the clubs he played for and all the coaches, teammates and individuals he met during that time.

“I learned a lot from everyone and I hope this is just the beginning of many good things to come. I still have a lot to evolve and learn, but every day I feel more prepared, with more confidence, to play my best football,” he concluded, hinting toward his greatest challenge yet.
