A frustrating draw against Mallorca left Barcelona with nobody to blame but themselves after they conceded two very poor goals en route a 2-2 draw.

Having just earned the lead of La Liga over the weekend, the trip to Son Moix was crucial to consolidate their position, but it went rather sour in a very poor performance from the team after a couple of very solid weeks.

Only a couple of players from the starting XI, namely Oriol Romeu and Gavi, could hold their heads up high with the account they gave of themselves.

Two errors from Marc Andre ter Stegen in goal were particularly frustrating on the night, and Gavi, playing with his usual intensity on and off the ball seemed rather discontent with how things unfolded.

Gavi’s leadership shows through

For Mallorca’s second of the evening, a long goal-kick was flicked into Abdon Prats’ path by Vedat Muriqi, and the former was trying to bring it down in the box after slipping between the defenders.

Ronald Araujo was alongside him, and given the trajectory of the ball, he would have most likely dealt with the situation if not for ter Stegen’s indecisive rush out, which meant Prats could get away with a poked attempt goalwards that crept in.

After conceding, a video from one of the fans in the stand has documented Gavi’s reaction, who appears absolutely livid at conceding another cheap goal after having given away the opener.

The reaction shows just how much it means to the youngster, who is already one of the integral parts of the midfield.

And now even more so, with Frenkie de Jong and Pedri out injured.

He may only be 19, but the youngster has already proven that he is willing to put everything on the line for the badge, playing with his emotions on his sleeve.

While they sometimes seem to get the better of him, his intensity is what makes him the calibre of player he is.
