Video: Barcelona wonderkid Gavi gives Spain the lead against Cyprus

Building on their 7-1 triumph against Georgia last week, Spain are off to a bright start against Cyprus in their UEFA Euro 2024 Qualifiers Group A encounter.
Just 18 minutes into the contest, Spain took the lead thanks to a fine strike from Barcelona midfield prodigy Gavi.
The 19-year-old midfielder, once again playing with a protective helmet, found himself on the end of a sumptuous cross from Nico Williams, and volleyed it past the opposition goalkeeper to hand La Roja the lead.
It is Gavi’s fourth goal for the Spanish national team, coming in his 23rd international appearance.

The 2022 Golden Boy Award winner is one of two Barcelona players in Luis de la Fuente’s starting XI today, along with Lamine Yamal, who was on target for Spain against Georgia.
The pair will be aiming to add more to their tally and lead La Roja to another big win in Granada.
