Barcelona enjoyed a wonderful winter transfer window that involved four departures and four high-level signings. The arrival of Adama Traore, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ferran Torres sharpens the Blaugrana attack once more, while Dani Alves arrives as a potent weapon at right-back.

According to reports from Roger Torello of Mundo Deportivo, the technical secretariat at Barcelona now turn their attention to player renewals, with Ronald Araujo and Gavi on top of that list.

Both the players want to continue at Barcelona but want their prominence in the team to be valued. Given that their salaries are significantly lower than their teammates, they also hope for a significant raise.

Liverpool and Chelsea are just two of the numerous sides to have shown interest in Gavi. Given his prominent role at Barcelona and the Spanish National Team at 17, he is bound to become an essential piece in any midfield for more than a decade.

The Catalans are said to be close to reaching an agreement with the teenager, though the final proposal has not yet been offered. The last meeting between the parties is expected to take place soon.

Araujo’s situation is more complicated. The Uruguayan is by far the lowest-paid defender in the team and has rejected the club’s first proposal for the same reason. Though the parties are not close as of now, negotiations are well underway.

The young duo are expected to be a part of Barcelona’s lineup at least for years to come. With the club well aware that they cannot lose either of the two, quick progress is expected.
