Barcelona will take on Shakhtar Donetsk in their third UEFA Champions League Group H encounter at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys on Wednesday night.

With two wins in two games, the Blaugrana have made a solid start to their campaign in Europe and will be eager to extend it tomorrow.

However, Barcelona will have to about their business without six players as Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski, Jules Kounde, and Sergi Roberto are all out of the match.

On top of that, Gavi will miss the game due to suspension.

Pau Cubarsi, Aleix Garrido set for a call-up

Given the lack of numbers in the squad due to the injuries, Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez is set to dip into the La Masia reserves to fill the squad for the game against Shakhtar Donetsk.

Marc Guiu is pretty much certain to make the list after his heroics against Athletic Club, with Barça working on registering him in the Champions League squad.

Now, journalist Albert Roge is reporting that Barcelona will likely call up two more youth prospects in the form of Aleix Garrido and Pau Cubarsi for the Shakhtar clash.

Garrido, a midfielder, has already made his first-team debut for Barça last season, but has not made the squad list for any matches this term as he is a regular fixture for Barcelona Atletic.

Cubarsi, meanwhile, is yet to make his senior bow, but the 16-year-old centre-back has featured in the matchday squad on a couple of occasions this term.

Cubarsi, Garrido will train under Xavi today

As per the report, the idea is for Pau Cubarsi and Aleix Garrido to train with the first-team players under Xavi Hernandez today.

With none of the injured players making a return in time for the game, the La Masia duo will likely make the final squad list to face Shakhtar Donetsk.

Along with the pair, Marc Guiu is also expected to make the list, along with Hector Fort, who was also on the squad list against Athletic Club.

Another player who was called up for the Athletic game was Unai Hernandez, but he will be unable to enter the Shakhtar game as he was not registered on List A of the squad and cannot be entered on List B as he has been at the club for less than two years, making him ineligible.
