Sergi Roberto is a Spanish footballer who plays as a full-back or central midfielder for Spain and Barcelona.
Known for his versatility, Roberto was promoted to the Barcelona first team in July 2013, replacing the departed Thiago Alcantara. He started life at the club as a midfielder who could be deployed anywhere in the middle of the park.
He was converted to a fullback by Luis Enrique in the 2015/16 season where he filled in as Dani Alves’ deputy. However, he went on to play as many as seven different positions that season including as a winger, centre-back, and left-back.
Roberto has won two UEFA Champions Leagues, six La Ligas, five Copa del Reys with the club, and was named in the UCL Breakthrough XI in 2016.
