After the Champions League humiliation against Bayern Munich today, Barcelona will no longer continue with Quique Setién next season. According to Fabrizio Romano, the club has already decided to sack the Cantabrian coach. Xavi and Pochettino are the candidates to succeed Setién as the next Barça coach.

“I am not going to comment on him today. We will announce some important decisions in the coming days.”, said president Bartomeu on Setién after the game, referring to the coach’s dismissal.

Even though players are all pointing towards ‘huge changes’ and not just ‘players and coaches’ (referring to the board), Bartomeu himself is not expected to resign. However, people from the club’s management like Eric Abidal and Grau will be sacked, according to Di Marzio.

The last time Barça conceded 8 goals in a game was in 1946. “The club needs changes. I am not talking only about the coach or the players. The club needs changes of all kinds. We have hit rock bottom.”, as Piqué described the night.

“I have only been at the club for 6 months. I cannot comment on what internal changes must be made within the club.”, responded Setién on Piqué’s comments.

Everyone has some kind of passion. For me, it is FC Barcelona. I started to write stories about the club I support in 2017, and have been lucky enough to be part of such a wonderful team.

The 18-year-old’s goal sealed an eighth away win of the league campaign for Barcelona, after Jordi Alba opened the scoring in the first half with a magnificent finish from a stellar lobbed through pass from Messi.

“I will never forget this moment until I die. This is where Ansu scored too. He is like a brother to me, he is from the family,” said Moriba in the post-match interview (via BarçaTV+).

Moriba added: “I want to dedicate this goal to my father and La Masia where I have learned a lot from.”

Barcelona grabbed all three points at El Sadar against a tough Osasuna side to move within two points of La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid. The Catalans will now be hoping that the Madrid derby tomorrow will help them close the gap at the top even further.

Ilaix is also confident that they still have a chance for the title: “La Liga isn’t over for us. We will fight till the end. That is the DNA they taught us at La Masia.”
