Semedo: “When Messi takes a freekick, I am behind with a fantastic angle to watch the goal”

Nelson Semedo spoke ahead of the Champions League quarter-final game against Bayern Munich.

“We know how they prepare and how they buildup the play from the back. We will be very attentive, we will focus on ourselves and give the best possible performance and try to score goals. If we play well we have the opportunity to qualify.”

The Portuguese full-back praised Lionel Messi and explained that he has a brilliant angle to watch the Argentine’s freekick goals. Semedo is well aware that Messi can do the impossible:

“I usually play behind Messi and it is amazing to see what he does. When he takes a freekick, I am behind him and have a fantastic angle to watch the goal. What a great player he is. When he gets the ball and I am behind him, I know very well he can do the impossible just as he did against Napoli.”
