Barcelona were hoping to turn their fortunes around as they took on Deportivo Alaves at the Olympic Saint Montjuic after two defeats in three games to Real Madrid and Shakhtar Donetsk.

However, they were already a goal down by the 18th second of the game as Samuel Omorodion opened the scoring for the visitors with a backheel flick inside the penalty area that nutmegged Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

While the first half was rather abysmal for the blaugranes, they put up a fight in the second, and eventually found an equaliser through Robert Lewandowski in the 53rd minute, before the Pole scored the winner from the spot.

As the man of the match, Lewa was the talking point from the win, but due to other reasons as well. He was seen beefing with Lamine Yamal in the second half as the youngster attempted a solo dribble inside the box, and shot straight at the keeper.

Lewandowski was seen asking for the pass, and when the ball did not arrive at his feet, a video showed him shouting at Yamal, and then not shaking his hand, either.

This, obviously did not go down well with the Barcelona faithful, who want their 16-year-old gem to be protected at all costs, even against his own teammates.

As such, Lewandowski cleared the air in press conference with the Polish national team, as quoted by Błażej Łukaszewski.

“Honestly, there is not comment on it, because it was just an incident, so when it comes to my relationship with him, I have helped him several times and gave him advice, even in this game.”

“It’s normal to say or shout something on the pitch. The entire situation is an incident out of context, and has no meaning. It happens,” he added.

Lewandowski is now up to seven goals in 11 appearances in La Liga, while starting nine of them. He still trails Jude Bellingham by three goals, and Gerard Moreno and Antoine Griezmann by one.
