Rival watch: Real Madrid could be without three centre-backs for Barcelona clash

As we move closer to the much-awaited El Clasico later this month, Real Madrid are experiencing a precarious situation at the moment, especially in the defensive unit.
The Spanish giants have lost Eder Militao and recently David Alaba due to injuries. But it appears these two will not be the only Real Madrid defenders to miss out in the upcoming matches.
Nacho Fernandez may face a four-match suspension
Real Madrid’s woes were compounded when veteran defender Nacho Fernandez picked up a red card in the win over Girona.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the booking could prove to be costly for Real Madrid, as the centre-back is now running the risk of facing a four-game suspension.
Nacho had initially received a yellow card for a foul on Portu. But as the referee reviewed the incident, he didn’t hesitate to give the defender a straight red.
As Portu required medical assistance following the nasty tackle, Nacho could face a four-game suspension, the report states.

Nacho could miss out Barcelona game
A four-game suspension for Nacho could prove to be devastating for Real Madrid, as it would mean the defender may miss out on the upcoming El Clasico later this month.
In addition to the Barcelona game, Nacho may also be unavailable for crucial games against CA Osasuna, Sevilla and Rayo Vallecano.
Nacho’s absence against Barça, in particular, could serve as a real headache for Carlo Ancelotti, who already has limited options in central defence.
With Nacho out and Alaba, and Militao injured, Real Madrid may even have to settle for a makeshift option such as Ferland Mendy as the partnering centre-back for Antonio Rudiger.
Alvaro Carrillo is another option, though the youngster is yet to make a single appearance in La Liga so far this season.
