It’s no secret that Joan Laporta’s relationship with La Masia and younger talents, in particular, has always been fruitful for Barcelona and that, when combined with Ronald Koeman’s diligence to integrate youth into his squad has meant that the club, is once again looking towards a brighter future.

With several talents emerging in recent years, it’s apparent that the Catalans don’t want to stop, and as per the latest reports by Mundo Deportivo, Barca is targeting yet another prospect: Fabio Blanco from Valencia is set to be on the list of the Spanish giants for the coming transfer window.

Regarded as one of the most promising players in Valencia’s youth setup, Blanco is approaching the last few months of his contract at Los Ché and is free to negotiate at the end of the season.

That being said, clubs around Europe have been monitoring Blanco’s situation and the 17-year-old winger will have a plethora of options to choose from come 2021/22 season. In Spain, Real Madrid and Real Sociedad are interested apart from Barcelona while Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are keeping tabs in Germany. AC Milan and Juventus have already approached from Serie A but, Premier League will be an unlikely destination given legal reasons due to Brexit.

Blanco could also end up at Marseille, whose project he holds in high regard. However, Barcelona does have an ace up their sleeve that could sway the deal in their favour…

Mateu Alemany, the former Valencia general manager has recently joined Barcelona under Laporta’s board of directors and was appointed as the director of football. Alemany is believed to have a great relationship with Blanco having renewed the U-17 International during his time at the Mestalla.

According to the Catalan newspaper SPORT (relayed by Tribuna), Alemany has already contacted Blanco’s entourage and is certain that the young right-winger is a good fit for the Blaugrana. Furthermore, Blanco is also advised by the same company as Pedri whose good relationship with Barca could be key in the move.

Only time will tell whether Blanco does arrive in Cataluyna, but one thing that does appear to be certain is that the Spaniard is set for a big move in the summer.
